A NEW AWARD HAS ARIVED

ANOTHER 1. PRIZE

"I never dreamed that I would win the first prize again. The competition was huge, and I didn't expect to be among the three first prize winners, but then they declared me the winner. This is already the third highest award and is the final proof and confirmation that my hard work and effort have paid off." These are the words that Josip Vukojević used to describe his excitement when he found out that he had won first place at the Meduna-native exhibition of deaf artists, "The Power of Color in Silence," held at the beginning of December in Zagreb. Twenty-nine artists from six European countries submitted their works to the exhibition, including seven academic painters. Not even a few months have passed since the last award won by a painter from Croatia at a major exhibition in Italy, and a new recognition has already arrived. The artist expresses his deep thanks to the organizers of the exhibition. For Vukojević, all connoisseurs of his work can attest that he is decorated with great persistence, passion, and love for painting. Sometimes he spends whole days and nights in his studio, and he explains why with the following words: "My big supporters, Krunoslav Kern and Zdravko Čosić, have always pushed me, given me numerous pieces of advice, but also warned me that without hard work and persistence, nothing good would happen in painting. And that's true!"
